Managing Partner and CCO
James has been serving clients in the financial services industry since 1986. James brings a wide range of experience to his client relationships including fixed income, equity trading, insurance, risk management, comprehensive financial planning, and portfolio design and allocation strategies.
Prior to joining Gill Capital Partners, James worked for Fortune 500 companies New York Life Insurance and Charles Schwab & Co. Inc. During his 10 years at Schwab, he held several positions including Senior Manager of Retail Sales and Vice President & Branch Manager.
James studied at the Metropolitan State College of Denver. James holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and the following securities registrations: Registered Representative, Registered Investment Advisor Representative, General Securities Principal, General Securities Sales Supervisor, Financial-Operations Principal and Government Securities Principal.
Active in the community, James supports Junior Achievement efforts, and Habitat for Humanity. For leisure he enjoys biking, camping, skiing, fishing and traveling. |

John Winslow
Managing Partner
John oversees the institutional fixed income business of Gill Capital Partners. John’s primary clients include banks and public entities. John graduated from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business with majors in Finance and Management. John brings experience in fixed income, trading, portfolio design and money management.
John spent four years as a Senior Investment Specialist for Charles Schwab & Co. He also has a strong knowledge of banking as a result of a prior three-year assignment. His insightful, hardworking approach to his clients’ financial endeavors has earned him the reputation as a trusted advisor. John holds the following securities registrations: Registered Representative, Registered Investment Advisor Representative, General Securities Principal, General Securities Sales Supervisor, Government Securities Principal and Municipal Securities Principal.
John and his wife, Rebecca, are ski and outdoor enthusiasts, enjoy golf and traveling. |

Tom Cladis
Vice President - Institutional Services
Tom currently serves in the role of Vice President specializing in growing and maintaining client relationships. Tom graduated from Colorado College in 1978 Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Business Administration
Tom’s knowledge and experience in the fixed income industry truly sets him apart. Tom began his bond career in 1982 with Isaac Bond Investments and Boettcher and Company before joining Gill & Associates, Inc. in 1988. Tom’s expertise and dedication to his clients have given him an outstanding reputation in the business. Tom holds the following securities registrations: Registered Representative, General Securities Principal/Representative, Government Securities Principal and Municipal Securities Representative.
Tom also has a passion for writing, which led to the publication of his first book in 2003, How To Lift Cars Off Your Face. Tom serves as the Youth Director for St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church and spends any free time with his wife and three daughters. |

Kevin Novak
Vice President - Wealth Management
Kevin is a Senior Portfolio Manager with Gill Capital Partners. Kevin has been in the financial services industry since 1986. His background includes investment research, asset allocation strategies, trust and estates, equities, options, and fixed-income. Novak graduated from the University of Montana in 1986 with a B.S. in both Finance and Economics. Kevin also received an Associate Degree in Computer Science from University of Montana in 1984. Prior to Gill Capital Partners, Novak was President of Novak Investment Management L.L.C. from January 2002 to October 2004. Kevin worked for Stanford Capital from April 2001 to December 2001. Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. from January 1992 to May 1999.

Sherie Valdetero
Relationship Manager
Sherie joined the Gill Capital Partners team in February 2004. She brings over six years of experience in the financial services industry. Sherie held various accounting positions early in her career before working at Charles Schwab. While at Schwab, Sherie was a Project Manager and a Human Resources Manager. In these roles, she coordinated recruiting, training, recognition and performance review programs. In addition, she was in charge of reporting for the Rocky Mountain Region. She was instrumental in the overall decision-making process of senior management at Schwab.
Her expertise in the industry facilitates the efficient operations of Gill Capital Partners. Not only does Sherie act as the main point of contact for client relationships, she also coordinates the everyday operations of the firm. She oversees all new and transfer account paperwork, and she ensures the confirmation of all trades and wires. Sherie also helps coordinate payroll, human resources, and reporting for the firm.
In her spare time, Sherie is very active in her church. She enjoys spending time with her two young daughters. |

Bart Skidmore - CPA, MBA
Bart has worked with Gill Capital Partners since October 1994. During that time, he has worked with many governmental entities in the area of investment management. Bart comes from the governmental sector being the past controller for Douglas County School District and past finance director for Eagle County Government.
As a CPA and past auditor, Bart has a wealth of knowledge of local governments and understanding their needs. Bart earned his MBA from the University of Denver and holds the registrations of Registered Representative, General Securities Principal/Representative, Government Securities Principal and Financial Operations Principal.
Bart enjoys spending his time golfing, skiing and traveling with his wife Kristy, son Alex and daughter Lily. |

Stephen K. Thielking, CPA
Consultant
Thielking is a consultant to Gill Capital Partners specializing in the creation and implementation of Employee Stock Ownership Trusts. Thielking graduated from Drake University in 1972 with a degree in accounting. He then went on to attend Drake University Law School from 1972 to 1975. Thielking passed the CPA exam in 1978 and became a partner with Oden, Henss and Thielking.
Thielking’s firm concentrates on corporate finance and expansion, including the utilization of Employee Stock Ownership Trusts, corporate tax planning and taxpayer representation before State and Federal regulators, including the IRS.
Thielking has helped co-author several books and magazine articles on the subject of Employee Stock Ownership Plans and has facilitated numerous seminars and workshops. |
